Altar Server

Mission Statement:
	The purpose of the Altar Server’s ministry is to give back to the Saint Mary’s community through altar serving. The altar servers help our Pastor perform the liturgy of the Word and the liturgy of the Eucharist. The members of this ministry are young men and women who have received first communion and completed the altar server training course. This ministry allows young men and women the opportunity to participate in sharing Christ at weekly liturgy.

Vision Statement:
	The goals of the Altar Server ministry are to get additional children interested in becoming servers. Also try to search out new servers a couple times a year. The way we would like to have growth for our ministry would be to have someone at the vestibule of the church to personally ask for new servers, ask children who are in religion classes and have present altar servers ask at least two friends to become altar servers. We would like to achieve these goals by the summer of 2005. We are planning to evaluate our ministry to see if we made progress in March, June, September, December and after training.
