| Baptism: |

Registered members are welcome to seek the Sacrament
of Baptism at St. Mary's. A baptismal preparation class is
required for parents seeking Baptism for an infant. This class
is under the direction of Patricia Rizzo. Registration
for this class can be made by calling the parish office. (For
adult baptism, please see The
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.) All baptisms
take place at the Sunday Liturgy and consist of two parts.
Part one, the Rite of Reception. At this celebration, the
child is welcomed into the Church, signed with the cross,
with the Oil of Catechumen, and anointed, registered into the
Book of the Elect.

Part two, the Rite of Baptism. The child is Baptized in water
and the Holy Spirit, dressed in the Baptismal garment, anointed
with the Oil of Chrism, and given the light of Christ.
